Faith Formation & Life-Long Learning

Preschool and Elementary Age Faith Formation

Here at St. Barbara we are dedicated to making faith formation a fun and enriching experience. We offer Elementary Faith Formation for Preschool-Grade 5. Classes start the end of September and finish the beginning of June. Preschool and Kindergarten classes are held Sunday during the 10:00 Mass. Grades 1-5 classes are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15. Students in Second Grade will participate in First Reconciliation and First Communion. For further information, please contact Sara Hotchkiss at 360-886-2229 or email Sara.

Junior and Senior High Faith Formation

Grades 6 – 12 meet in the fall on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 in the classrooms below the church. For further information, please contact Valerie Winston Healy at 360-886-2229 or email Valerie. We welcome your teen right where they are in their life.

High School Confirmation

Older teens (grades 10-12) are encouraged to celebrate the gift of the Spirit in our Confirmation program. Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 in the classrooms below the church. This journey involves dynamic speakers, growth in understanding the faith, opportunities for service and an unforgettably powerful, life changing retreat. Students will never forget this faith journey. The Sacrament of Confirmation takes place every other (even) year. For further details, please contact Valerie Winston Healy at 360-886-2229 or email Valerie.

The Heart Room

A St Barbara reflection tradition puts us in touch with that place within each of us where the loving and healing power of Jesus is always present.

Advent & Lent Reflection Booklets

Advent and Lent are periods aimed at deepening our faith and entering more fully into the saving mysteries rooted in Jesus. One facet of this has been reflection booklets with thoughts for living our faith each day.

Display of Nativities

The Christmas season includes a display of over 200 nativity sets. They visually represent not only the bodily entry of God into the world but also the richness of the faith as expressed in diverse cultures, times and media.
